Model Motel is a band that I've had the privilege of playing bass in and being a part of for the past two and a bit years. Model Motel formed in our second year of university, though we had all played together before in seperate projects as well as known each other before we formed, when we did start playing together it was a very instant connection as there was no large adjustment period to find everyones styles and roles.

My playing background is rooted in early punk, ska, dub and some light funk, but in truth I will and have played anything that peaks my interests. This kind of flexibility has leant itself to Model Motel, as we tend not to pigeon hole ourselves and will play a mixture of styles.

With bass in Model Motel, I try to emulate a sub or 808 bass as many of our songs fit simple lines that are more rhythmically rich with tight transient hits and short decays, or as a low droning sub tone or tail.
